This is a tight deadline, but we just found out that the region will again be able to award one scholarship to the World Conference.

Participants at last year’s IABC World Conference in New York enjoyed an outstanding experience. And those who attended with support from Heritage Region scholarships had a special opportunity to taste the “International” in IABC while taking in the thought-provoking sessions.

The scholarship includes one IABC regular conference registration (a $1,430 value) and a maximum of $300 toward travel/accommodation expenses provided by the region. One scholarships will be granted in the IABC Heritage Region. The conference this year takes place in Toronto, Canada, June 8-11, 2014. Details about the conference are now on the IABC website.

The process to nominate is easy:

1.       Consult with your board on the nomination, if desired.

2.      Contact the individual you are considering to make sure that person would be able to attend with the assistance of the Heritage Region scholarship.

3.      Download the 2014 World Conference scholarship app and complete the basic nominee information. E-mail the form to your nominee and ask that person to complete responses on the last 2 – 3 pages. The focus is on (1) chapter or region volunteer service and leadership, (2) reasons for attending and plans for sharing the experience.

4.      Your chapter president or another board member can then submit the application by e-mail to Pat Frey, Heritage Region scholarships and chapter grants chair, at pfrey@fuse.net, no later than Friday, April 25, 2014.

5.       Members at Large may also be nominated with the same application, sent to amillerproject@aol.com.

Please make the most of this valuable opportunity to foster the professional growth of our current and future leaders and increase their commitment to IABC.

If you have questions or need more information, contact Pat Frey, Heritage Region Scholarship Chair at pfrey@fuse.net.

Thank you for your consideration.
